Working Progress
Having only just formed Bubble Web Design, we are currently still developing our Content Management System, Instant Website software and E-Commerce packages.
Current Projects
Thus far have revamped a motel website and commenced our first big project for a Dunedin print company. These two sites are good examples of brochure-style vs. interactive e-commerce design.
Carisbrook Motel Website
This is a minimalistic but effective website for a small Dunedin motel.
The home page features an interactive Google Map, so that guests can quickly find the motel. The facilites page has room descriptions and photographs, while the Local Attractions page outlines the best of the Dunedin Tours, including Larnach Castle, Taieri Gorge and more.
This motel is a member of Golden Chain, so we have linked to this 3rd party booking engine through the "Book Now" button, so that guests can make instant bookings online. We are unfortunately still waiting for this 3rd party to re-style their booking page as they have agreed to do, to match the new website.
Running costs for this site are under $100/yr.
Dunedin Print Dynamic Website
Dunedin Print had unique needs. An interactive site where customers can upload, customise and order print products online, by using the Bubble Print Widget specifically developed for this website.
The shopping system also tracks user history, allows quick re-orders and special promotions for VIP members.
A download feature allows experienced graphic artists to work on the design of a product on their own computer after downloading a blank template with the correct dimensions and bleeds. They can then upload and add this to the cart for printing.
This website is currently under construction and will be going live on the 1st of August 2010.
Brochure Website
At carisbrook-motel.co.nz visitors can find the motel on a Google map, have a look at photographs and descriptions of the motel, and be redirected to a booking page, which has been styled to look the same as the rest of the site.
Interactive Design
For the Dunedin Print Website we developed a web application where customers can modify product templates on the screen, adding and removing text and images as they like, before submitting their order.
Users are also required to create an account, which retains useful profile and "quick reorder" information, as well as linking to the DP database.
